Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Walkthrough
To make sure that your playthrough is as pain-free and efficient as possible, it’s essential to first look at what to expect from your playthrough to get all of the achievements. This will make sure you have the most fun while playing and help keep you from grinding any longer than necessary.
Step One: The Story
The first part of your journey through the game is to complete the main story. This will make getting the collectibles and wrapping everything else up more accessible as it will get you all of your abilities. Since Metroidvanias can sometimes get a bit confusing to navigate, keep in mind that you can always return to Dominique and talk to them to get a gentle nudge toward where you’re supposed to be going. You should also note that the achievements Just a Flicker and Usurper are both missable. To make sure that you can get all of them out of the way in one playthrough, check how to get those and get them out of the way before you kill Gebel and progress through the actual ending of the game.
Achievements in this step:
- Army of the Night
- Dethroned
- Shardbinder
- Storm Abolisher
- Samurai Showdown
- Show of Hands
- Wing Clipper
- Snake Charmer

- Speed Demon
- Dragonslayer
- Just a Flicker
- Tourniquet
- Hermetically Sealed
- Transcendence
- Rodeo Star
- His Blade
- All Bets Are Off
- Moonscraper
- Usurper
Step Two: Completion
Once you’re done with the story, you can start completing the rest of the game. After you beat it, you’ll have access to every area and will be able to fully explore them since you will have every ability at your disposal. During this portion, you’ll be killing every enemy type, filling in the map, completing side quests, getting every item, and finding all the shards to round out your playthrough.
Achievements in this step:
- Cartographer
- Item Collector
- Demonologist
- Shardmaster
- Arvantville’s Angel
- Able Alchemist
- Might’ve Known
Step Three: Clean Up
You will likely get most of the achievements in this step while you go through the two above. These are all side achievements that, if you don’t have out of the way by the time you finish step two, you’ll have to do a bit of grinding to finish up. However, they all shouldn’t take you long, especially when you finish the game.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Achievements
Overlord
Gamerscore: 35
Description: This achievement is for getting all of the other achievements in the game.
Cartographer
Gamerscore: 30
Description: This achievement is for ultimately discovering the map.
Tips: To get this achievement, you have to thoroughly explore the areas of the map until you have 100% completion. Older versions of the game required 100.1% completion by finding secret rooms, but that has since been changed with a patch.
Item Collector
Gamerscore: 30
Description: This achievement is for getting at least one of every item in the game.
Tips: This achievement can take a lot of effort to track down all of the individual items required. However, you should note that it includes every type of armor and weapon, including crafted ones, and some materials can only be found by purchasing them that you’ll also need to get.
Demonologist
Gamerscore: 30
Description: This achievement is for killing one of every enemy type in the game.
Tips: There is a list of every type of demon in the game, so you can easily track what ones you have and still need to get right in the Bloodstained.
Shardmaster
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for finding one of every type of shard.
Tips: One significant way to help cut down on the grind for getting enemies to drop their shards is to complete all of the quests for the NPC outside Arvantville. They will require you to bring her various armor and items, but she will give you the Ring of Solomon once the questline is completed. You should get this as early in your playthrough as possible, as it increases the rate that enemies drop shards, which will severely cut down on this achievement’s grind.
Kickstopper
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for doing ten jump kicks without landing.
Tips: The easiest way to get this out of the course is to travel to the cathedral once you get the double jump ability. In the first room of the area, you’ll find a giant demon with a ton of help. You can then double jump over him, hold down, and when you jump, kick down, bounce off him and back into the air to repeat it until you get the achievement to pop.
Marathon
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for traveling a total of 42.195 kilometers.
Tips: You will undoubtedly get this achievement while progressing through the main story.
Gilded Youth
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for having at least 500,000 gold at once.
Tips: As you go through the game, only spend gold when you need to. You can also equip and upgrade numerous items that will increase the gold you get from combat if you need to grind for this one at all.
True Haggler
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for getting at least 100,000 gold by selling items.
Tips: This is an easy achievement to get at the end of your playthrough. You can sell all of your equipment when you have absolutely nothing else to do, and you will get this one to pop. Some players have also reported this achievement unlocking when they buy the Discount Card that costs 100,000 gold, but whether or not that is intended is unclear.
Dare to Devour
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for eating 20 unique recipes.
Tips: There are more than 20 unique types of food in the game, so if you just eat any that you come across, you will get this one without any extra effort.
Arvantville’s Angel
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for completing a total of 30 quests.
Tips: The most accessible quests to complete are the ones that just have you slaying demons, as you’ll likely get them naturally. However, you will do most of them regardless of completing your item list.
Bloodstained
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for absorbing 1000 liters of blood.
Tips: You can absorb blood after defeating the Bloodless boss located in Dian Cécht Cathedral, which will drop the shard Blood Steal. Then, you can cast that shard for 80 MP to absorb nearby blood to heal you. Use that throughout your playthrough until you get this achievement.
Growing Pains
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for getting to level 50.
Tips: After you finish up the rest of the achievements, you will likely have to grind to get yourself to level 50. There are a few different ways to approach this, but one easiest is to take your favorite Greatsword to the 8-bit dungeon in the secret room above the Hall of Termination. Go through the dungeon until you reach the area where zombies infinitely spawn. Invert gravity there and stand on the underside of the stairs and keep swinging. This will have you killing multiple zombies with each swing, which will get you to level up in just a few minutes.
Army of the Night
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for watching the credits at the end of the game.
Dethroned
Gamerscore: 25
Description: This achievement is for killing Bael.
Tips: Bael has to be killed if you’re going for the game’s true ending. Kill Zangetsu a second time and then fight Gebel to get to him. After that, attack the moon with the Zangetsuto weapon when it turns red. Then, you just have to go through the game.
Moonwalker
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for using backstep to travel more than 100 meters.
Tips: You will get this achievement by playing naturally, but if you don’t, you can get this out of the way in just a minute or two by spamming it repeatedly.
Able Alchemist
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for crafting ten items.
Tips: For this one, you can cook food, craft items, or enhance shards.
Shardbinder
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for getting your first shard.
Tips: You will get your first shard by progressing through the story, so you’ll get this one early in the game.
Treasure Hunter
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for finding 100 chests.
Tips: You will find plenty more than 100 of them by playing the game naturally and exploring the map.
Demon Hunter
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for killing 1,000 demons.
Tips: You will get this achievement just by playing naturally.
Make a Wish
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for destroying 1,000 candleholders.
Tips: You will likely break plenty of candleholders by accident while fighting demons throughout your playthrough.
Down Pat
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for maximizing a weapon technique.
Tips: You should be using weapon techniques as you play through the game and will likely get this naturally. If you don’t find an enemy, you can easily hit with your favored weapon technique and repeatedly use it.
Bookworm
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for checking out ten books.
Tips: You can check out books by talking to Orlok Dracule in the Livre Ex Machina area. Dracule will allow you to check out books from him that boost your stats as long as you carry them. How many books you can carry at once will expand as you play through the game, but to get this achievement, you just have to equip a book ten times, meaning you can just unequip and re-equip one book ten times when you first meet him to get this one out of the way quickly.
Scrap Heaper
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for dismantling ten items.
Tips: You will likely do this naturally as you play, but if you don’t, you can craft an item, dismantle it, and craft it again with the components until you get it to unlock.
Might’ve Known
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for getting through a hidden wall.
Tips: There are tons of hidden walls that can be destroyed across the game’s map. You can find one very early on, however, in Galleon Minerva. It is right below the first save room you find at the bottom of the vertical area holding a few Seamas. Once you’re in there, attack the wall to your right to reveal a hidden room.
A New You
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for getting a new hairstyle.
Tips: This is easily done by talking to Todd, who can be found by fast traveling to the Dian Cecht Cathedral and going into the second room on your left.
Déjà vu
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for jump-kicking Orlok Dracule’s chair repeatedly.
Tips: This is easiest done when you have the Invert shard. Once you do, travel to Livre Ex Machina and go to the room beneath Dracule’s library. There, you will find a chair and an opening in the ceiling. Use Invert to flip gravity and then jump kick down onto the chair. Each time you do this, the chair will move, and Dracule will comment on it. Just keep doing it, and the achievement will unlock eventually.
Recital
Gamerscore: 20
Description: This achievement is for listing to the favorite song of the Carabosse fairies.
Tips: You have to get the Carabosse shard before you can get this achievement. To do so, go to where you fought the Craftwork boss. You can move a pillar in that room to get a ride on a demon chariot. Take that ride and kill the Carabosse that appear as you ride it. You can repeat this until you get the shard. At the end of the chariot ride, you’ll find a pavilion with a piano sitting in it. Equip the shard you got and summon the Carabosse and sit at the piano to hear a hidden song play. Once that song is over, you’ll get the achievement.

Tips: Once you defeat the boss in the Underground Sorcery Lab, you will receive a teleportation shard. Use that shard to gain access to the Hall of Termination and kill the boss there to get this ending. You will get a game over screen and the achievement, but you’ll be able to load your last save and continue playing for the good ending. Make sure to do this before getting the good ending; otherwise, you will be locked out of this achievement and will have to do a second playthrough to get it.
