Maneater Trophy Guide: Action, Blood & Gore

Latest posts by Arron Kluz (see all)

Maneater is a game akin to a summer blockbuster. It is filled with action, isn’t too challenging, has plenty of blood and gore, and has plenty of setpiece moments. The game sees players controlling a massive shark on the hunt for revenge. To hunt down the fisherman that killed the shark’s mom and disfigured her when she was a baby, players have to explore the open seas to find food, grow more powerful, and evolve. While Maneater is an entertaining ride of blood-fueled shark vengeance, it is also an excellent game for trophy hunters to get the platinum thanks to its fun action, humorous tone, and innate absurdity.

Maneater Platinum Walkthrough

Before we take a look at what each specific trophy you’ll be unlocking is for, we’ll go through a walkthrough of what to expect. This will also help you get through the trophy list as fast as you want so that you can enjoy the game and then move on to the next platinum.

Step One: The Entree

Luckily, all of the trophies in Maneater can be gotten either during or after completing the story. So, the first step towards getting your platinum is to just play through the game naturally. As you play, grab the collectibles you see, but don’t fret about them too much since you can get them all pretty quickly once you’re fully evolved. However, as you evolve, you’ll want to get your Sonar ability leveled up as early as possible. This will allow you to spam it as you travel around the map, marking collectibles that you can come back to later.

Step Two: The Main Course

Once you have the story quests wholly wrapped up, you’ll want to start taking down the collectibles and the last bit of grinding to reach Infamy Level 10. If you’ve been using your Sonar ability throughout your playthrough, you should be able to track down all of the collectibles without much effort.

Step Three: The Dessert

Once you’re done with the final content in the base game, you can reward yourself by going through Maneater’s DLC, Truth Quest. This DLC gives you access to an entirely new region and adds three new activities and a new type of collectible to the base game’s regions. You should approach this DLC similarly to the main game. This will see you traveling to the new region and playing through its storyline, grabbing the collectibles in that region, and then returning to the base game to find the remaining new collectibles there and complete the new activities. Then, you’ll be all done.

Conclusion

Maneater is not a massive AAA open-world game, but it still has a lot to love. It has whimsical action that is a lot of fun, some good jokes, and you get to play a massive shark, which is always a great thing. The game’s platinum trophy is also not very demanding and is easy to pick up without taking too much time, regardless of your skill level.
