Ghost of Tsushima Trophy Guide

Latest posts by Arron Kluz (see all)

Ghost of Tsushima was one of the most beautiful and engaging open-world games on the PlayStation 4 and the Playstation 5, thanks to its Director’s Cut edition. The title transports players to feudal Japan, where they play as the samurai Jin Sakai on a quest to repel the first Mongol invasion. While the game takes some narrative liberties from that historical foundation, it excels at incorporating Japanese culture and history to create a grounded and immersive look at Kendo and Bushido. Thanks to its finely crafted story and fun gameplay, it also is an excellent platinum trophy for PlayStation players to hunt down.

Key Info Up Front

Genre: Open-world Action

Difficulty: 4/10

Number of Trophies: 63

Estimated Playtime Required: Approximately 65 hours.

Ghost of Tsushima Walkthrough

If you’re interested to see exactly what a completionist run of Ghost of Tsushima will look like or want to know how to take it on as effectively as possible, you’ll want to make sure you take a look at this walkthrough. Below we will cover each trophy that can be earned in the game, but first, I’ll break down the order you should tackle the content and things to keep in mind as you play to make sure you don’t miss anything to have to grind more than necessary.

Step One: The Story

Ghost of Tsushima Trophy Guide

The first thing you should do during your playthrough is naturally enjoy Ghost of Tsushima’s story. There are no missable trophies after you finish the storyline. You’ll be able to free-roam around the world and wrap up any business. So, you can just play through the game how you usually would and enjoy its ride for what it is. As you play, you can complete any side content that you’d either like or need to level up and progress, but you can also wait to do it all afterward, which is what I would recommend. As you play through the story, you will also likely come across some of the collectibles and get some of the miscellaneous combat-focused trophies. However, I also recommend getting those out of the way later in your playthrough, as being a higher level and more comfortable with the game will make doing so take much less time.

Trophies in this Step

  • Gathering Storm
  • Point of No return
  • Company of Wolves
  • Stoking the Flame
  • Family Reunion
  • Leader of the People
  • Birthright
  • Dying Embers
  • The Ghost
  • The Exiled Alliance
  • Sovereign End
  • Mono No Aware
  • Den of Thieves

Step Two: The Tales of Tsushima

The Tales of Tsushima

After you finish the story, you’ll want to tackle the side quests known as Tales of Tsushima. There are 70 of these total so this step will take up a healthy amount of your time. To help break it up, you can either do some of these side quests as you play through the story or combine this step with the next one or two to keep things fresh for yourself. The side quests that you’ll have to tackle are split into three categories: Tales of Tsushima, Character’s Tales, and Mythic Tales. These are all essentially the same, and you’ll be able to see their starting locations on your map.

Trophies in this Step

  • The Warrior Monk
  • the Vengeful Warrior
  • the Unbending Archer
  • The Headstrong Thief
  • Teller of Tales
  • Helping Sword Hand

Step Three: Combat and Mongol Territories

After you have the Tales of Tsushima wrapped up, you’ll want to start taking control of all of the Mongol Territories. There is 56 Mongol Territories total, and you’ll have to kill the enemies at everyone. You can knock these out as you travel across the map for main or side quests, but now is the time to do them if you have any left. As you do so, you’ll also want to keep an eye on any of the combat-related trophies you still have yet to get. Taking out the territories will be a great way to see enough combat to pound those out while you carve your path through the Mongol hordes however you prefer to.

  • Securing Sanctuary…
  • Mass Eviction
  • A New Safe Haven
  • Master Liberator

Step Four: Collectables and Leftovers

You’ll likely have a decent amount of these finished up at this point, but now is the time to wrap up any of the collectibles and other trophies you don’t have yet. Collectibles in Ghost of Tsushima cover quite a range, from gifts and vanity gear to shrines that you have to pray at. Once those are out of the way, you’ll want to pick up the leftover trophies for some random bits and pieces of the game, like fully upgrading your sword or using Photo Mode.

Step Five: Iki Island

Iki Island is the only DLC pack released thus far for Ghost of Tsushima and is included in the Director’s Cut. You unlock the island during your playthrough of the base game, but I recommend saving it for last as its story is mainly separate and self-contained. When you play through the DLC, it is effectively a smaller version of the base experience. You’ll want to start by playing through the story, completing the side quests, capturing the enemy camps, and gathering the collectibles.
