Watch Dogs Legion Trophy Guide

Latest posts by Arron Kluz (see all)

The Watch Dogs series offers a hacking-focused take on an open world. Its newest entry, Watch Dogs Legion, takes it further than its predecessors by delivering a story of a band of hackers revolting against the oppressive government in London. Watch Dogs Legion also broke new ground by tackling an ambitious mechanic who does not have any main protagonist. Instead, players can recruit any NPC to join the hacker group DeadSec as a playable character. Each NPC has voice lines, a background, and different abilities to assemble the perfect team part of the challenge for any mission. So, if you like near-future settings, detailed open worlds, or wacky characters, Watch Dogs Legion‘s platinum trophy should be right up your alley.

Watch Dogs Legion Walkthrough

To make your journey to the platinum trophy easier, we’ll start by going through a walkthrough of the most efficient and fun way to tackle the list of trophies in Watch Dogs Legion. This is a crucial step to help cut down on the grinding you’ll have to do for some trophies and make sure you leave the most challenging content for last when you are more prepared to tackle it.

Step One: The Story

Watch Dogs Legion Trophy Guide

The first part of this playthrough is to boot up the main game from the menu and play through the story. This will help you enjoy it as much as possible, but many trophies for side content can only be completed after finishing specific parts of the main story. When starting the main story, you will have to select your difficulty level from five options. Feel free to pick whichever sounds the most fun to you, although I recommend not choosing Resistance mode until your second playthrough below. You can like it right off the bat, but it is extremely punishing. I recommend being more familiar with the game before attempting it. However, if you tackle it right away, your time with the game will decrease by around 10 hours.

As you play through the main story, you’ll also want to be on the lookout for an NPC that has the occupation of Video Game Designer so that you can recruit them to DeadSec for the Meta-Gaming trophy. As you play, you can also do any side content or grab any collectibles that you come across or feel inclined to. Not all of it is necessary, but doing so will help cut down on the grinding later in the playthrough.

Trophies in this step:

  • Brave New World
  • The Future Is Bright
  • Long Live The Queen
  • Hacker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
  • When Good Men Do Nothing
  • Divided We Fall
  • Making Friends
  • Rise Up
  • Meta-Gaming

Step Two: The Side Content

Once you’ve wrapped up the main storyline, you’ll want to tackle the side missions and turn the districts of London, known as Boroughs, defiant against the government and the private security company it hired, Albion. The only side quests that you have to complete for trophies are gotten in your safe houses across the map, so if you don’t want to do any of the others, don’t worry about them. Then, you can start turning all of the boroughs. Each borough on the map has three or four small missions that need to be completed to sow discontent within its populace. After you complete those brief missions, a final mission will unlock, and the borough will be marked as defiant once it is complete.

Trophies in this step:

  • The One That Got Away
  • In The Nick of Time
  • A Roof Over Your Head
  • England for Everyone
  • Take Back London

Step Three: Base Game Round-Up

There is a healthy chance that you will naturally unlock many of the following trophies during your playthrough. However, if you don’t, you’ll have to pick them each up here. At this point in the game, you should have enough operatives and equipment that getting each one should not be difficult but will just take a bit of time. Once those are out of the way, you can tackle the collectibles. All of the locations for each collectible time are below so you won’t have any problem tracking them down.

Trophies in this step:

  • A Dish Best Served Cold
  • And Stay Down
  • Every Walk of Life
  • Down To The Wire
  • Death From Above
  • NO NOT THE BEES
  • Hack The Planet
  • Shaken Not Stirred
  • Power To The People
  • Paint Me Like One of Your…
  • Throw The Book At Them
  • The Royal Tour
  • You Don’t See Me!
  • Could’ve Made National
  • Bullseye
  • Piece de Resistance
  • Bottoms Up
  • DedSec Delivery
  • Fresh Threads
  • Fully Kitted
  • Locked And Loaded
  • Oral History
  • Magpie

Step Four: Bloodlines

Now, from the main menu, you’ll want to start the Bloodlines DLC. This DLC takes place directly after the main game and features Aiden and Wrench, two characters earlier in the series. This DLC is pretty brief, and all of the trophies in it shouldn’t take you more than ten hours, so start by playing through the story, and then you’ll be ready to go back and mop up any trophies and collectibles you didn’t get naturally.

Trophies in this step:

  • Breaking the Ice
  • Switcheroo
  • One Big Happy Family
  • Viva le Resistance
  • Community Service
  • Off the Record
  • Supply and Demand
  • Packrat
  • Fully Kitted 2.0

Step Five: Resistance Mode

Resistance Mode is a free update that adds a new difficulty setting to Watch Dogs Legion. The mode makes permadeath mandatory, adds some new mechanics that make the oppressive presence of Albion more felt by the player, and decreases the resources at your disposal while making enemies more challenging. Luckily, there is only one trophy tied to this mode, and it is for completing the story, so all you have to do is play through just the main missions.

When you attempt this playthrough, you should get as many skill points as possible right at the start of the game. This will help alleviate some of the mode’s difficulty and get you over the hump to establish yourself in the playthrough. To do this, total cargo drops with a character that has access to a drone, such as Wrench. Then, you can focus on whatever skills you like. Still, I recommend concentrating on the level three Spider Drone, level three Active Camo, and health upgrades as there are moments in the game where loud combat is mandatory. If you are worried about the permadeath in the mode, make sure to save frequently so that if a character you need dies, you can quickly exit the game and reload, and make sure to take things slowly and carefully to reach the end.

Description: This trophy is for turning all eight boroughs defiant.

Tips: You will naturally unlock each borough while playing through the main game. Each borough will then have a few small missions that you have to complete to unlock a final mission. Once you accept that final mission, you will have to meet with contact before getting the actual objective, which will make the borough defiant against the oppressive government. Doing so will also reward you with a special operative that you can use from then on.

And Stay Down

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for killing a DedSec Adversary.

Tips: A DedSec Adversary is any enemy that has killed or seriously injured one of your operatives. There is a perfect chance you will get this trophy naturally, but if you don’t, have one of your operatives that you don’t need to get killed by an enemy and then kill that enemy with a different operative. Just make sure that if you are playing with permadeath, the operative you let get killed is unnecessary.

Every Walk of Life

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Silver

Description: This trophy is for having 20 operatives with different jobs.

Tips: An operative’s job is effectively their class and determines what they can all do when used. The easiest way to get this trophy is to wait until you have finished the main story and completed turning all of the boroughs defiant to get your hands on the special operatives in the game. Then, just walk around the streets of London profiling any NPCs you pass to find and recruit ones with jobs you don’t have yet.

Down To The Wire

Rarity: Silver

Description: This trophy is for doing five stealth takedowns with a hitman operative.

Tips: Getting an operative with the hitman occupation can be tricky, so if you don’t find one in the streets, make sure to make the borough Nine Elms defiant to get a unique one. Then, just stealth kill five enemies anywhere on the map.

You Don’t See Me!

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Silver

Description: This trophy is for escaping a level five pursuit by using the statue emote.

Tips: To recruit an operative with the living statue occupation, you need to look in the Nine Elms and Lambeth boroughs after they are made defiant. Then, recruit the operative and kill civilians until your pursuit level reaches level five. Then, run away from your pursuers to break the line of sight and use the emote to hide in plain sight and escape them.

Could’ve Made National

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for completing the Intermediate 1 Kick Up challenge.

Bullseye

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for playing a darts game at every possible location.

Tips: There are 21 total games of darts you have to play for this trophy in each of the pubs across the map. Luckily, each pub is marked, so make sure to just go to them all with the same operative and play a full game at each one. You can play through the solo game that serves as a tutorial rather than the verses to make it quicker. You should also do this while completing the Bottom’s Up trophy below.

Piece de Resistance

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for putting a Pase Up in every location on the map.

Tips: Paste Up locations are marked on your map, and there are 47 in total. However, you should tackle all of them at once at the end of the game, as they will not be marked off your map when completed, which can be confusing. It is also easiest to do them with an operative that uses a cargo drone so that you can skip the climbing puzzles to get to each spot. Make sure to also use the same operative for all of them to avoid any bugs and glitches.

Bottom’s Up

Image from Fandom

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for getting a drink at every location in the game.

Tips: For this trophy, you have to get a drink at all 25 of the pubs marked on the map, as well as the drink you can get in your safe house. Make sure to do it all with the same operative to avoid any bugs and glitches and play games of darts at the pubs when you visit for the Bullseye trophy above.

DedSec Delivery

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for doing 20 Parcel Fox missions.

Tips: Self-service parcel terminals are marked on your map with a small fox icon. You have to go to them for this trophy and complete 20 of the infinite procedurally generated missions there. To make it easier, make sure to accept missions that don’t give you a pursuit level so that you can do one right after the other.

Especially expensive clothes can be found at Picadilly Circus.

Tips: To do this, you’ll have to get your hands on 1,300 tech points to spend in the upgrade tree of the Teams menu. You should get at least the majority of these naturally during your playthrough, but if you need more, complete spide bot side activities to get them quickly.

Image from Fandom

  • The majority of enemies are elite
  • Enemies use unique gadgets more frequently
  • The player’s max ammo is reduced
  • Players are detected more quickly
  • Albion soldiers will detect the player as a DedSec member if they get too close
  • Albion Checkpoints will detect the player as a DedSec member
  • Stronger upgrades in the Tech Tree have an increased cost alongside overall rebalancing
  • Pursuits are more punishing, more frequent, and get worse faster
  • Enemies call reinforcements more quickly
  • Player cooldowns are longer
  • Players are unable to use the tube stations to fast travel
  • It takes longer for the player’s health to begin regenerating
  • Explosives can no longer be triggered with the Trap hack
  • Times for arrested and injured operatives to return are increased
  • Operators with the infiltrator spider bot cannot perform takedowns on enemies
  • The majority of NPCs start with a negative disposition towards DedSec, making them harder to recruit
  • Must be played with permadeath enabled

Conclusion

Most of your time with Watch Dogs Legion will not be very difficult unless you play on a more incredible difficulty. The only challenging part of the completion comes from playing through the game on Resistance Mode. However, many fans have reviewed the free mode positively and have said that it is a more immersive experience thanks to how punishing it makes the player’s interactions with Albion. Either way, the lack of needing to get every collectible in the game is a great time-saver, and this platinum is a great one for any fan of open-world games to chase.
