Before we look at each of the individual trophies you’ll earn, we need to take a more comprehensive look at the process overall. This will help you know what to expect before dedicating the time to getting the platinum trophy, but it will also help you tackle this challenge in the most efficient manner possible.

Step One: The Main Story and Missables

You’ll want to focus mainly on just enjoying the main storyline and getting everything unlocked for the beginning of your playthrough. As you play through the game, you’ll also get Requests, which you should do as many as you want right away to cut down on the grinding later on. There is also one missable trophy called What are Friends For? that you should look at before you begin so that you don’t miss it. The game comprises eight dungeons that you have to clear, with the first six also having a town section. Whenever you reach a town, make sure you explore it thoroughly, find all of the recipes and ingredients in the area, and get as many of the Requests as possible. As you play, you’ll also want to get as many characters fully leveled up to unlock their Master Arts as possible. You’ll have to do it for all of them eventually, so switch characters as you play whenever you get one fully leveled also to help cut down on the grind later.

Trophies in this step:

  • Cage of Lust Closed
  • Cage of Vanity Conquered
  • Cage of Gluttony Torched
  • Cage of Desolation Condemned

Step Two: Post-Game

Step Two: Post-Game

Once you finish the main story, you’ll have a save file that you can upload to drop you into the last dungeon to continue playing and finishing up anything you have yet to do. This is where you’ll get into the post-game of finishing any non-missable Requests you still have to do and fighting the eight Dire Shadows. Dire Shadows are extra-hard enemies surrounded by lightning that appear in the dungeons. You will see them earlier in your playthrough, but you’ll want to wait until now to face them, as they can be brutal if you aren’t prepared. Once all of the requests and Dire Shadows are dealt with, you’ll receive the last Request in the game to fight the Reaper boss. Fight that, and you will be turned into a Master save, which you’ll need later.

Step Three: The Grind

Step Three: The Grind

After you load your Master save to start the new game+ run, reload it again, but choose to continue playing rather than creating the second run. Then, you’ll be ready to do the brutal grind for your last four trophies. You’ll have to repeat the same Request for around 10-15 hours of gameplay for this step. You’ll want to get your level to level 99, get every character up to 70, and merge Personas in the Velvet Room after you hit level 99 to finish up your Inmate Registry. Once all that is done, you’ll want to save your game and load it to start a New Game+ on Merciless difficulty. However, you won’t have to play through the entire thing, as you only need to get to the Velvet Room to make Lucifer and complete your Inmate Registry.

Tips: You will get this quickly during your playthrough as long as you use All-Out Attacks whenever possible.

Know Your Enemy

Know Your Enemy

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for hitting an enemy with something they are weak to 300 times.

Tips: You should be adapting your elements and skills to your enemies’ weaknesses throughout your playthrough anyway, so you should get this trophy quickly.

Phantom Striker

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for killing 200 enemies using phantom dash.

Tips: Phantom dashes can only be done during battles by jumping to a perch and attacking the enemies below you. You can do this in every Jail in the game, but Shibuya Jail has the most, so when you go through that one, make sure to do as many as possible to get them out of the way as you go through it.

All That Glitters

Rarity: Bronze

Description: This trophy is for killing 10 Treasure Demons.

Tips: Treasure Demons can be found by the sizeable glowing gem above them in the dungeon. You have to chase it down whenever you see one before it disappears quickly. Once you catch up to it, you only have 30 seconds to kill it, so make sure you act quickly. You’ll come across a lot more than ten during your playthrough, so just get them when you can also to get a ton of resources as a reward.

Death Defied

Death Defied

Rarity: Silver

Description: This trophy is for defeating the Reaper boss.

Tips: To get the Reaper to appear, you must complete the main story and all of the Requests. You’ll be led to it with a final Request called Knocking on Death’s Door. The Reaper has no weaknesses and can use any type of magic, so you’ll want to equip a powerful Persona with no weaknesses to avoid getting caught off guard. The Reaper also attacks very quickly, so you’ll have to dodge frequently and just get a few attacks in here and there until it’s dead. However, if you get your entire party up to level 99, you shouldn’t have a problem dealing with him.

Mask Connoisseur

Rarity: Silver

Description: This trophy is for filling the Inmate Registry.

Tips: To do this, you have to get your hands on every Persona in the game. Around 80% of the Personas are earned by defeating them in battle, with the rest being obtained by fusing them in the Velvet Room. Below is a table of every Persona you’ll need to get and where to find them.

The Master Arts are combo moves that are unlocked just by playing with that character, so you will get them all quickly to get each character to level 70. Just make sure to play as each character is here and there to get them all to unlock, as they won’t unlock if the character is just in your party.

Those Who Heed the Call

Rarity: Silver

They will help you grind through some of the lengthier trophies and give you some excellent rewards. Most of the Requests will just be given to you, but you have to select them from the menu before making progress toward them, so make sure to do that.

No Looking Back

No Looking Back
Image from Fandom

Rarity: Gold

Description: This trophy is for starting a New Game+ save on Merciless Difficulty.

Tips: You may want to play on this save file to make your grinding go faster, but you don’t have to for any trophies. Starting the mode on Merciless is enough and will allow you to merge to get the Lucifer Persona to complete your collection. All of your progress carries over to the new save other than your Requests and story progress, so it’s a great way to experience the game again with more challenges.

Conclusion

Persona 5 Strikers is an untraditional spin-off for the series. Still, it maintains so much of what fans loved about the original game and series that it is well worth picking up for fans who just want more time with their favorite characters. It also includes an entirely original narrative that will satisfy the vast majority of players while also offering a fun platinum trophy journey, even if it requires some harsh grinding.

Answer: Yes, it is a sequel, so playing it will give you more of the story and expand on its world and characters.

Question: Is Persona 5 Strikers Open World?
