It Takes Two Walkthrough
Before taking a look at each of the individual trophies in It Takes Two, we need to first go over what you should expect before accepting the challenge. Thankfully, getting the platinum in It Takes Two is a lot simpler than most modern titles. You can get every trophy in one playthrough by simply going out of your way to grab them while playing through the entire story. Most straggler trophies are for playing the few optional minigames sprinkled throughout the game, but you don’t have to win them. You just have to participate.
However, you should know that there is no matchmaking in the game, so you’ll need to find a co-op partner to be able to play. Playing through the game with just one person using one controller and flipping back and forth is also nearly impossible. Most of the puzzles and platforming challenges require precise timing that would be extremely difficult to perform when switching between controllers. Thankfully, if you do miss any trophies, though, there is a chapter select that you can use to go back and get it pretty quickly. You also don’t have to play through the game in one sitting, as you can pick up where you left off, and there are plenty of checkpoints throughout the game. You can even change who you’re playing with at any time, so you don’t need to run through the entire game with the same person. When you purchase It Takes Two, it also gives you a free Friends Pass that you can send to a friend so that they can play with you at no extra cost. However, you should know that players playing the game with the Friends Pass cannot earn any trophies themselves.

Tips: There are 25 minigames scattered throughout the game that can be hidden if you don’t know where to look. Each one pits the players against one another in a fun and brief game to help mix up the game’s pace and add a bit of competitive fun to the co-op adventure. For this trophy, you do not need to win every minigame. You simply need to play each one at least once. The list of all the minigames is where to find them are below.
|Chapter 1: The Shed||Whack-a-Cody||This minigame pits the players in a competitive game of Whack-a-mole, with one trying to stay out of holes while the other tries to hit them with a hammer.||This minigame is unmissable, and you will play it in the room covered in sawdust.|
|Flip the Switch||This minigame sees May on a circular platform with switches in a circle along the border. Cody is then placed high above. The two players then have to compete to hit more switches than the other as they flip over.||Flip the Switch is at the end of a side path in the room where you have to hit the red button that reads “DANGER Moving Parts.” Just make sure to grab it before hitting the button.|
|Chapter 2: The Tree||Tug of War||This minigame is a classic Tug of War game with players mashing buttons to see who is stronger and can pull the other into a hole between them.||This minigame is easy to find in the room with the giant soccer ball after Cody fills the furnaces with goo, and May makes them explode to launch Cody.|
|Plunger Dunger||This minigame sees both players taking control of plunger turrets with eight tracks in a tunnel. Targets appear on the tracks for players to shoot, causing them to move towards the other player. Players score points by getting targets to touch the other player’s side, and the one with the most points at the end of a time limit wins.||This minigame is directly in front of you after you right the big blue catfish.|
|Chapter 3: Rose’s Room||Tank Brothers||This minigame is played on two handheld consoles. It is a short game where both players control a tank in an arena and have to try and shoot the other player by lobbing grenades while moving to avoid getting hit. Whichever player hits the other three times first is the winner.||On top of the tall stack of pillows right at the start of the level. The pillows are located just before the purple star lamp.|
|Space Walk||This one is a simple platformer minigame where both players are in a floating box room without any floor beneath them. Players then have to jump from box to box to claim them without falling. The winner is the player with the most boxes at the end of the time limit.||Found inside the space elevator is a hidden opening just below the top. Go through the portal in the opening to be teleported to the minigame.|
|Laser Tennis||This minigame places players on identical fields in an arena. Each side has twelve buttons that players can then jump on to spawn lasers that wipe across the other side of the board. Players win by surviving the longest without being hit by a laser.||Found in another hidden opening in the section of the space elevator, just before the second set of three portals.|

Whoever makes it back to the starting point first wins.||Directly to the left of the Horse Derby.|

At the end, you will find a big red button in front of a wall. One player must press that button, sucking them into a glass chamber revealed behind the wall. The other player can then select from different tortures to inflict on them before eventually letting them out.
Struck a Pose

Tips: At the start of the Pillow Fort section in Rose’s Room, take a right to jump on some pillows after you walk past the star lamp and flashlight. Description: This trophy is for scanning four frequencies with the antenna in Rose’s Room.
Tips: After going through the yellow portal in the Spaced Out section, jump on the yellow bouncy pad to your right. This will take you to the top of a stack of pillows. Player 2 then just needs to ground pound their side of the ramp to throw player one up to the stars on the ceiling, unlocking the trophy for both players.
Break the Bank
Description: This trophy is for breaking a filled piggy bank.
Tips: To the right of the Batting Team minigame, a pig is walking near four gold coins. There, you have to pick up each of the coins and put them in the pig through the slot on its back. The pig will then roll over, and you have to jump on its stomach to break it. However, only the player who breaks the pig will get the trophy, so if both layers want it, you’ll have to load the checkpoint and repeat the process.
A Daring Devil
Description: This trophy is for jumping through a red ring in a toy car.
Tips: The car is found at the start of the Hopscotch section of Rose’s Room. Right when you spawn in, walk forward until you find the toy car parked in front of a red ramp. One player then needs to get in the car while the other player pulls the car backward half as far as they can and releases it. The trophy should unlock for both players.

Tips: You will eventually come to a town square in the Gates of Time section of the Cuckoo Clock level. There is a funfair with a lit sign at the end that says “HELLTOWER.” Beyond that sign are two buttons that both players have to press at the same time to make the tower be revealed. Then, both players need to ascend the tower by timing their jumps correctly to make it up all the platforms. This will likely take a few attempts, and each player has to make it to the top themselves if they want the trophy.
Description: This trophy is for riding a boat to a small house.
Tips: You can get this trophy in the same town square area in the Gates of Time section in the Cuckoo Clock level. There is a boat in the area that flows along the river. Then, you can find them and push them to their nest with your magnets. The locations of the baby turtles are below.
- Red 1: Behind the pavilion in the middle of the frozen lake.
- Red 2: Straight in front of the mother turtle.

- Blue 2: Straight in front of the mother turtle.

Go below that tower to the cliffside with a swingset on its edge. Use your magnet to help the person on the swing spin faster and faster until the trophy unlocks.
Description: This trophy is for feeding some seals with fish.
Tips: This can only be done during the Beneath the Ice of the Snow Glob level. After you dive into the water at the station, swim back up to the water’s surface. There you can find a small wooden boat. Get to the ship and harpoon a few fish out of the water to feed them to the nearby seals for this trophy.
Terror of the Seven Seas
Description: This trophy is for wearing a pirate hat.
Tips: The pirate hat is found during the Beneath the Ice section of the Snow Globe level. After you swim down to the underwater station, return to the water’s surface, where you can see a frozen pirate ship in the distance. Swim to the pirate ship and climb up to its steering wheel. You will find a chest that you can open and interact with to put on the pirate hat.
Bug Sized Relaxation
Description: This trophy is for taking a second to unwind in a spa.
Tips: The spa is found in the Green Fingers section of the Garden chapter, just after you finish the Burrower boss fight. You’ll have to enter a spa building to progress, so just dip into the pool there to get this trophy.
