Genshin Impact Trophy Guide

Genshin Impact Trophy Guide – Teyvat Trophy Hunting

I’ll open things up with a story. I wasn’t a huge fan of Genshin Impact when it arrived on the scene a few years back. As a game journalist, I had to play the obligatory hours needed to put together a competent review, but after I had done my time, I quietly snuck out the back door, leaving all my resin, primogems, and characters behind.

You may be asking why, because as a gacha game, a handful of hours is more than enough time to get anyone hooked, and if anyone knows me, they know I’m a sucker for an addictive gameplay loop. Well, the answer is pretty simple. The game had trophies, but no platinum to strive for. Upon finding that out, I packed my bags and left Teyvat behind. Little did I know that I would be suckered back in, and fall harder than ever for this whimsical and charming RPG adventure.

I would myself mindlessly scanning through my trophy backlog, looking for a new challenge, and lo and behold, Genshin had a platinum trophy. Shocked and bewildered, I made the decision there and then to download the ridiculously sized game file, and from then onwards, I have been chasing that platinum, with only the Spiral Abyss standing in the way of completion.

You may be thinking, well, you haven’t managed it. So how can you guide me? Well, the long and short of it is, you need to play this game consistently for months on end to even stand a chance of clearing all of the Spiral Abyss floors, and I am an adult man who has to play an endless stream of games as they release. So it’s a tough ask for me.

That being said, I know exactly what would be required of me if I were to chase that final trophy, and I know this game inside out, back to front, and sideways. So I assure you, If you want to get your hands on that platinum trophy, I can get you there. Just know, you can kiss your free time goodbye. So say goodbye to your loved ones, put an auto-reply on your emails, and hunker down. It’s time to grind. This is Avid Achiever’s Genshin Impact Trophy Guide!

Quick Facts

  • Genre: RPG
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Average Time for 100%: 150-250 hours (dependent on the consistency with which you play, and skill level)
  • Total number of Trophies: 72 (38 required for the platinum)

Roadmap To Success

Complete The Archon Quests

The End of the Beginning Genshin Impact Trophy

This trophy hunt is going to become a major grind, so my advice for you in the early stages, is simply to play the game and enjoy the main storyline. This section just asks the player to play naturally by gaining XP and items through the Archon Quests.

You will naturally gather chests, Oculi, primogems, and other key resources as you go, and undoubtedly you will get pulled in other directions to do some world quests and side content too. In the process, you will likely pop these trophies:

  • The End of the Beginning
  • Journey: A New Star Approaches
  • Wind Chasing Treasure Hunter I
  • Wind Chasing Treasure Hunter II
  • Onward and Upward I
  • Onward and Upward II
  • Re-Armed, Re-forged I
  • Re-Armed, Re-forged II
  • Rock Steady Treasure Hunter I
  • Rock Steady Treasure Hunter II
  • Mountains of Treasure I
  • Mountains of Treasure II
  • Mondstadt Continental Explorer
  • Liyue Continental Explorer
  • Mondstadt: Brush of a Thousand Winds
  • Liyue: Surveyor of Stone
  • Down We Go I
  • Geo: Of Mountains High

World Quests and Oddities

Dragonspine Skyfrost Nail Genshin Impact Trophy
Image from Fandom

After you catch up with Archon Quests, it can be a little bewildering, as you are no longer being led by the hand of the developers. Instead, you will have to manage your own time in Teyvat and seek out activities to do.

The good news is that there is no shortage of things to do, and if you have been fully focused on Archon Quests, then you should turn your attention to the abundance of outstanding World Quests. Here are the trophies you should pop if during this segment:

  • Dragonspine Skyfrost Nail
  • Explorer: Unswerving
  • Explorer: Beloved of the Ameno Archon
  • Marksmanship: Nothing Special, Just Practice
  • Mondstadt: Megastar in Mondstadt
  • Liyue: Legend in Liyue

Collectible Hunting

After you clear some world quests and level up your characters even further, you’ll need to take some time out from grinding Resin and clearing quests to go on a hunt for chests, Oculi, and Crimson Agate. This is a long and tedious process, so I hope you stumbled across most of them in your natural playthrough. Here are the trophies to prioritize in this section:

Wind Chasing Treasure Hunter III Genshin Impact Trophy

  • Wind Chasing Treasure Hunter III
  • Rock Steady Treasure Hunter III
  • Mountains of Treasure III
  • Scarlet Sprouts I
  • Scarlet Sprouts II
  • Scarlet Sprouts III
  • Mondstadt: Let The Wind Lead
  • Liyue: Unmovable Mountain

Into The Abyss

After you collect all the necessary items above, all you have left is to upgrade your characters, build a couple of killer teams, and take on the Spiral Abyss. I would wager that even though you will be more than 100+ hours in by this stage, this will be the most time-consuming section of the guide, as you will have to grind your team to max level, up their talents, ascend suitable weapons for them, and also get decent artifacts for them as well.

There are a million ways that you can go about this, but all of them will take a lot of dedication, consistent log-ins, and a fair amount of skill to beat floors 9-12. Here are the trophies you’ll need to wrap things up and pop the plat:

  • Down We Go II
  • Abyss: Abyssal Crusader
  • Down We Go III
  • Onward and Upward III
  • Rearmed, Reforged III
  • Down We Go III

Down We Go I

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 34.33%

This trophy is awarded to players who manage to clear the first four floors of the Spiral Abyss. While I would urge players to mostly ignore the Spiral Abyss until they have two very strong teams, the first four floors are very easy, and worth doing early as you gain access to a couple of free-to-play characters in the form of Xingliang and Collei. There isn’t a lot of strategy needed for these floors. Any team comp should work, provided they are at a suitable level.

Geo: Of Mountains High

Geo: Of Mountains High

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 39.8%

This is awarded to players when they attain the power of Geo. This may seem a little vague, as most players will have a Geo character called Noelle at this point. This trophy requires players to equip The Traveller, and then head to a Statue of the Seven in Liyue. Then in that menu, you will be given the option to attain the power of Geo. This will alter The Traveller’s vision, giving them Geo powers, and when you do this, the trophy will pop.

Dragonspine Skyfrost Nail

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 35.50%

This trophy will pop when players complete the world quest, In The Mountains. This is a quest that takes place in Dragonspine and will involve the player climbing to the top of the mountain to raise the Skyfrost Nail. If you want an in-depth guide to this quest, then I suggest you hop over to this guide right here. But if you want to work it out for yourself, here are answers on a postcard:

  • Begin Quest at the Dragonspine Adventure Camp
  • Investigate the Strange Ice
  • Thaw All The Shards
  • Navigate Starglow Cavern
  • Clear the ice in Wyrmrest Valley
  • Guide The Seelies and Climb the Mountain
  • Activate the Skyfrost Nail

Explorer: Unswerving

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 20.1%

*Co-op Required* To earn this trophy, players will need to team up with a friend online, and then they will need to head to a very specific part of the map in Liyue. There is a tiny little island east of Yaoguang Shoal where you will find a rock formation in the shape of a heart. To reach it, you can use a pinwheel updraft to glide over to the island, or you’ll need to use a water-walker character like Mona, or make an ice-path with Kaeya.

When you get there, both of you simply need to start in the heart shape together, and if you do, both of you guys should get the trophy for your efforts.

Explorer: Beloved of the Ameno Archon

Explorer: Beloved of the Ameno Archon

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 34.7%

This is about as easy a trophy as you could ever ask for. All you need to do is travel to Mondstadt and head to the top of the city near the Cathedral. There you will find the Statue of Barbados. All you have to do is scale the statue, walk along the statue’s outstretched arms, and sit out in the palm of its hands. You’ll be able to take in a lovely view, and pop a trophy as you drink it in.

Marksmanship: Nothing Special, Just Practice

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 26.6%

This trophy is awarded to the player if they manage to use a bow and arrow to shoot down a Falcon in mid-air. This can be really tricky, as you need to be a pretty sure shot to hit the Falcon. However, there are some good vantage points that make this a little easier. If you head out to the Huang Stone Forest in Liyue, there are a number of mountains where you can stand at the summit and shoot a falcon that circles the area. Plus, if you have Yoyima on your team, her homing arrows make this a much easier task. When you shoot the bird, this trophy will pop.

Mondstadt: Megastar in Mondstadt

Genshin Impact Trophy Mondstadt Megastar In Mondstadt

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned: 21.0%

This trophy is earned by raising your reputation in Mondstadt to max level. This is done by completing requests and Bounties in the city of Mondstadt. I would urge players to begin this process as early as possible and gradually work on this, as you only get to do three Bounties and three Requests per week. If you want an in-depth rundown of the reputation system in Genshin Impact, then check out my guide on the subject.

Liyue: Legend in Liyue

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned: 19.33%

This trophy is earned by raising your reputation in Liyue to max level. This is done by completing requests and Bounties in the city of Liyue. I would urge players to begin this process as early as possible and gradually work on this, as you only get to do three Bounties and three Requests per week. If you want an in-depth rundown of the reputation system in Genshin Impact, then check out my guide on the subject.

Wind Chasing Treasure Hunter III

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 18.6%

To earn this trophy, players will need to open 400 of the 500 available chests in Mondstadt, excluding Dragonspine. When you hit 300+ this can become a pretty hard task, as they are much harder to locate. However, there are a number of things that players can do to make life easier for themselves. They are as follows:

  • Use a Genshin Interactive Map to find nearby chests
  • Complete Mondstadt Reputation Level Six to gain access to the Ameno Treasure Compass
  • Set your Daily Commissions to the Mondstadt region, which will help you find more of these chests naturally

Rock Steady Treasure Hunter III

Rock Steady Treasure Hunter III Genshin Impact Trophy

  • Rarity:
  • Players Earned:

To earn this trophy, players will need to open 800 of the 1,100 available chests in Liyue, excluding The Chasm. When you hit 600+, things will slow down drastically, as they are much harder to locate, and Liyue is a much bigger region than Mondstadt with more verticality. However, there are a number of things that players can do to make life easier for themselves. They are as follows:

  • Use a Genshin Interactive Map to find nearby chests
  • Complete Liyue Reputation Level Six to gain access to the Geo Treasure Compass
  • Set your Daily Commissions to the Mondstadt region, which will help you find more of these chests naturally

Mountains of Treasure III

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned:

To earn this trophy, players will need to open 160 of the 230 available chests in Dragonspine. As this is quite a compact area, I would wager that most players will be able to find 160 chests mainly through natural exploration. However, there are a number of things that players can do to make life easier for themselves. They are as follows:

  • Use a Genshin Interactive Map to find nearby chests
  • Set your Daily Commissions to the Mondstadt region, which will help you find more of these chests naturally

It is also worth noting that the Ameno Treasure Compass will not allow players to easily locate chests in the Dragonspine region.

Scarlet Sprouts I

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 32.7%

To pop this trophy, raise the Frostbearing Tree level to Lv.4. See Scarlet Sprouts III for a full description

Scarlet Sprouts II

  • Rarity: Bronze
  • Players Earned: 21.97%

To pop this trophy, raise the Frostbearing Tree level to Lv.8. See Scarlet Sprouts III for a full description

Scarlet Sprouts III

Scarlet Sprouts III Genshin Impact Trophy

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned: 19.6%

To earn this trophy, players will need to raise the Frostbearing Tree’s level to Lv.12 (max level). To do this, players will first need to complete the initial stages of the In The Mountains quest. Then when players have access to the Frostbearing Tree, they must hunt down Crimson Agate which is hidden all over Dragonspine. This is found by exploring, completing quests and opening special chests, and also solving puzzles.

There are a total of 80 Crimson Agate that can be earned through exploration and quests, but players only need to find 70 of these. After that, players can then complete commissions similar to Daily Commissions that reward up to 5x Crimson Agate per week.

Unlike Oculi, there is no way of tracking these other than using an interactive map. However, if you want some help finding these collectibles, then have a look at this guide.

Mondstadt: Let The Wind Lead

  • Rarity: Gold
  • Players Earned: 28.33%

To earn this trophy, the player will need to go out and find the location of all the Amenoculi in the game. There is a total of 66 Amenoculi, but you only need 65. Don’t ask me what the extra one is for; no one knows. As you find these items, return them to any Statue of the Seven in Mondstadt, and you’ll get a stamina boost for your efforts.

The player can complete level 2 of Mondstadt’s reputation ladder to gain access to the recipe for Amenoculous Resonance Stones. However, I found these quite unhelpful, as they only offer a broad area to search. The best way to attack this is with a dedicated guide such as this, or you can use the interactive map for guidance and attach markers to your own map.

Another quick tip. If you are wandering around and you spot a star on your mini-map, that means an Oculi is nearby, so be sure to take the time to grab them if you come in close proximity of one. It will save you so much time, trust me!

Liyue: Unmovable Mountain

Liyue: Unmovable Mountain Genshin Impact Trophy

  • Rarity: Gold
  • Players Earned: 24.2%

To earn this trophy, the player will need to go out and find the location of all the Geoculi in the game. There is a total of 131 Geoculi, but you only need 130. Much like the Amenoculi, I have no idea why we get a spare. As you find these items, return them to any Statue of the Seven in Liyue, and you’ll get a stamina boost for your efforts.

The player can complete level 2 of Liyue’s reputation ladder to gain access to the recipe for Geoculous Resonance Stones. However, as mentioned above, they only offer a broad area to search. The best way to attack this is with a guide such as this, or you can use the interactive map for guidance and attach markers to your own map.

It is also worth noting that players will have to complete some world quests to find all the necessary items, such as Nine Pillars of Peace and The Chi of Yore.

Down We Go II

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned: 33.98%

Players will earn this trophy when they clear the first eight floors of the Spiral Abyss. Continue to Down We Go III for a more detailed strategy Guide.

Abyss: Abyssal Crusader

Abyss: Abyssal Crusader Genshin Impact Trophy

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned: 22.1%

This trophy is awarded to players who manage to get 3/3 stars on the first eight floors in the Spiral Abyss. Continue to Down We Go III for a more detailed strategy Guide.

Onward and Upward III

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned: 24.5%

This trophy will pop when the player manages to ascend one of their characters to phase six for the first time. This requires the player to be at least Adventure Rank 50, and will allow players to get their character to Lv.90 (max level)

Here’s some important info to help you get your head around ascending characters:

  • Players will need to pump around 4.7 million XP into a character to reach the final ascension stage.
  • Players will need to collect a lot of ascension materials which are different for each character
  • Players can collect XP books through quests, opening chests, Leylines, and much more

Rearmed, Reforged III

  • Rarity: Silver
  • Players Earned:

This trophy will pop when the player manages to ascend one of their weapons to phase six for the first time. This requires the player to be at least Adventure Rank 50, and will allow players to get their weapon to Lv.90 (max level)

Here’s some important info to help you get your head around ascending Weapons:

  • Players will need to pump around 5 million XP into a weapon to get it to the final ascension stage
  • Players will need to acquire Weapon Ascension material which is gained through completing Domains
  • Players will also need to collect Refinement Ore, which is earned through opening chests, quests, crafting at a forge, through the Battle Pass and more.

Down We Go III

Down We Go III Genshin Impact Trophy

  • Rarity: Gold
  • Players Earned: 9.8%

Then lastly, we have the most difficult of all the trophies on this list which requires the player to clear all twelve floors in the Spiral Abyss. Players only need to obtain one star on each floor, but even simply surviving the onslaught of enemies throughout is an achievement in itself. While there are hundreds of combinations that players can use to take on the Spiral Abyss and clear all the floors, and floors 9-12 change with every update, there are some teams that tend to dominate regardless of what stands before them. So here are the teams I would suggest you lead with if money is no option:

Team 1:

  • Raiden
  • Xingliang
  • Xingqu
  • Bennett

Team 2:

  • Akaya
  • Kokomi
  • Kazuha
  • Shenhe

I would also suggest that your team is all at least level 80, with level 90 being preferred for an easier time. You should also have strong artifacts on all featured characters, have fully ascended weapons for each character, and you should be very comfortable rotating and chaining reactions using the comp you run. Here is a complete Spiral Abyss guide if you want a more in-depth analysis.

I should also mention that it is possible to clear the Spiral Abyss with a completely free-to-play team. However, you will have a really hard time pulling this off, as these characters are nowhere near as powerful as the 5* characters that you will earn through wishing on Banners. Here is a Free to play Spiral Abyss guide if you want to take on this challenge.

FAQ Section

Question: How Long is Genshin Impact?

Answer: If you are mainly playing the game to try and follow the main storyline and just play through the Archon Quests, then I would wager it would take anywhere from 50-80 hours at the time of writing (Update 3.6). However, if you want to see absolutely everything that Genshin has in store, then you are talking thousands of hours, easily.

Question: Is The Genshin Platinum Hard?

Answer: For the most part, no. The trophies are more time-consuming than difficult, and if you are willing to put in the time, you will rarely encounter a challenge that will stop you from progressing. However, one trophy is genuinely very tough to obtain, and that is because MiHoYo keeps moving the goalposts. Down We Go III is a very tough task that will ask the player to defeat some of the strongest enemies in the game in a challenge gauntlet format. However, if you can get this trophy, the rest is a cakewalk.

Question: How Many Regions Are In Genshin Impact?

Answer: In terms of playable regions, there are currently four at the moment which are Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru, with the fifth, Fontaine, soon to be introduced in the 4.0 update.

Triumphant Travellers

So, if you have managed to check off every trophy on this list, then you have conquered everything that Mondstadt and Liyue have to offer; you have likely completed every single bit of content that Genshin has to offer currently, collecting an enormous amount of Primogems in the process. Plus, you have somehow managed to build a team that smashed through the Spiral Abyss, which gets harder and harder with each new update. So kudos to you.

I hope that this guide has helped you burn through Genshin’s content at an alarming pace, and even though it likely feels unthinkable that you could ever walk away now. I wish you every success with the inevitable palette cleanser trophies you go after when this platinum is wrapped up. As always, thanks for reading Avid Achievers.
